This body of work grew out of a fascination I shared with my sister for the enchanted places of Ireland. Most images are connected to a history of fairy lore or a first-hand account of supernatural happenings. My sister began researching Irish history and folklore while starting correspondence with locals willing to share their stories.

Fascinated by these stories, we traveled from village to village recording our observations both in words and in images. Our hope was to experience for ourselves a slice of this beautiful and enchanted place. These photographs are black and white gelatin silver prints hand painted with photographic oils.

I wait, I watch, I listen
For that place far away.
A ripple in the water
Dancing lights along the bay.
A veil as thin as the breeze
Is all that separates me
And the place I long to be.
